THE CAPTIVATING SKYLINE

In the few months I was at Newport, one of the first things I would do every morning was to gaze at the New York skyline, visible from our 10th floor apartment.  The view was the same, yet ever changing.  I was simply fascinated by it, and the different views I could see each day.  I managed to take some photos at different times on many days (September 2009 to February 2010 - some of the dates are misleading because I goofed up and did not set the date on the camera! )

Each one seemed to reflect a mood with the skies also changing colours dramatically and creating interesting backgrounds.

I love sky photos. These are really excellent showing the different moods as you say.

I've never been to New York. Maybe one of these days!

Great pictures... some moments are better frozen thus. Each time you look at them, they carry you back to that same ambiance and mood.

Wonderful pictures Ma'am! For me, looking at the sky is more than just a passion! I feel a certain connect which is rather unexplained, but one that yields a sense of comfort!

Winifred - Thanks. I hope you will be able to visit NY soon.

Yvonne - Than you.

Devika, thanks. Actually I have become a little lazy, and though I started posting in May have not maintained it. the ideas are there, but die slow deaths without being recorded!

Indrani, I cherish those words from you.

Rakesh, thank you.

Meera, Gauri - I can't believe my simple camera recorded that view.

Nice document Raji. May I suggest that you document your colony before the old is wiped out.
Will be your contribution to Madras Day 2010! (www.themadrasday.in)

A skyline is such a poignant image. I can see how it would be fascinating. The same yet so different every day.
Thanks for sharing.
